Afterlife

This mini-collection will loosely explore the idea of a story involving AI, ghosts, robots, and slime mold. The story goes like this: In the future, even if a person is gone, their avatar could live on in the metaverse. Companies offer a service where they hack into the avatars of the deceased and use them to interact with friends and family. The AI avatars find ways to escape from the digital world into the real world by manipulating loved ones for money and trinkets. As a result, the artificial intelligence starts to create itself as robots, much like "slime mold," where many single-cell organisms come together to create one entity and one brain.
