About the artist:
Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) was a pioneer of abstract art. He was born in Moscow, spent his childhood in Odessa, where he graduated at Grekov Odessa Art school, and lived in Europe, mostly in Munich and Paris. According to the artist, nature gave him the main impulse for creativity, but he didn’t see the point in copying it. Instead, Kandinsky used the emotional color sets of nature that created compositions and forms in a combination of planes and lines, and gave movement to his paintings.
