About the collection:
DRESSX Suriname Collection was inspired by colorful prints of Emile-Allain Séguy. Seguy was a popular French designer throughout the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements of the 1920s. He was born in France and studied at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris. In 1913 he founded the art department of the Grands Magasins du Printemps and worked on the publication of sophisticated catalogs. Séguy designed primarily patterns and textiles and was influenced by the natural world, especially the beauty of insects, which he saw as “mechanical wonders”.
