About the collection:
Shani Meytav studies in Shenkar College of Engineering, Art and Design. Kintsugi art is designer's inspiration for this project. Kintsugi art comes from the principles of the Wabi Sabi, the Kintsugi belief is that the defect is beauty and the object becomes whole and perfect only when it is damaged. The word Kintsugi consists of the words kin which means golden, and Tsugi which means construction. The flaws are not hidden but receive a place of honor and are accepted with love, the value of the defective increases and not the other way around.
Shenkar College of Engineering, Art and Design is a top-ranked Israeli academy. The college’s goal is to foster an interdisciplinary environment where designers, artists, and engineers work together to shape the future of technology. Shenkar College was rated the number 6 Fashion School in the world by the Business of Fashion in 2017.
