INJURY is a state of mind wandering through sub-culture, with an unmistakable sense of identity. The traditional-turned-digital brand was founded by Eugene Leung, a multi-disciplinary artist, curator, creative director, fashion visionary and musician based in Sydney, Australia. The brand showed physical collections at various fashion weeks across the globe, including the official on-schedule shows in Paris, New York, Australian, Beijing, and Shanghai. Brand’s work has been featured in top international media, such as Nowness, WWD, Sense, Elle, Marie Claire, GQ, and Rolling Stone Magazine. INJURY’s digital fashion journey started with their 2021/22 collection showcased as a CGI film at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week. The brand decided to challenge itself and do something different during the Covid-19 world pandemic. Switching to digital allowed INJURY to stimulate its own creative development and bring a new perspective on what a fashion show could be.
INJURY's gender neutral 2021/22 digital collection is built on the story of a group of hedonist characters trying to escape reality and wander off in a simulated fantasy world. The title 'Butterfly's Dream' is an ancient story, the philosophy that explores an idea of reality as an illusion. The characters are designed as hyper-humans in the INJURY’s gender-redefining collection. The prints applied throughout the collection include the brand’s signature visuals as well as a mini-collection featuring visuals by Australian artist Mikaela Stafford.
